Govt to distribute fertilizers according to pre-scheduled time slots
Kathmandu / Aug 24: The government has said that it will distribute fertilizers to farmers as per a schedule to avoid crowding in the distribution centers.
Issuing a COVID-19 related security system for the import, transportation and distribution of fertilizer, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development directed all the stakeholders to prepare schedules to distribute fertilizers at different times to avoid crowding. Farmers have to get the fertilizers in the designated time, and they have to go through a pre-screen test. The ministry has directed the concerned authorities to inform farmers about the arrangements through email, telephone, SMS or other medium.
Cooperatives and sellers will also receive fertilizers according to the schedule prepared by the concerned bodies. The ministry has asked the distributors to keep a record of the visitors.
Similarly, the ministry has asked every individual involved in import, transportation and distribution of fertilizers to maintain a social distance of at least two meters. “Arrange isolation for drivers, conductors and helpers involved in import of fertilizers,” stated the directive. As the workers involved in transportation of fertilizers need to travel from one district to another, they need to be home-quarantined as soon as they return to their hometown.
