TU plans to conduct postponed examination after Dashain

Kathmandu / Aug 29: Tribhuvan University (TU) is preparing to conduct its postponed examination programs after the Dashain festival.

According to Controller of Examinations Pushparaj Joshi, preparations are being made to conduct semester-based examinations and annual examinations after the Dashain festival.

Although the TU was earlier preparing to conduct examinations before Dashain, the adverse situation that unfolded as a result of COVID-19 recently thwarted its plan. Joshi said the Examination Controller’s Office will conduct annual examinations while concerned faculties will be assigned to conduct semester-based examinations.

All the postponed examination programs of TU are likely to begin by the end of November, according to Joshi. The TU is mulling to complete all the examinations before mid-April next year.

With this, no academic sessions would be affected as four-year degree programs are designed to complete within 48 months and if the examinations are conducted by April the programs will be completed within 45 months.

Joshi said the decision on semester-based examinations would, however, be taken on the basis of the report of the respective Dean Office. Although discussions are currently underway to conduct semester-based examinations on virtual methods it depends on the report of the Dean office and the number of students who are taking examinations.
