COVID-19 tally surges to 1,05,684 with 5008 new cases today

Kathmandu / Oct. 10: Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday confirmed five thousand and 8 new cases of COVID-19 across the country taking the national tally to 1,05,684.

“In 19,320 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 5008 persons were found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in the regular press briefing today.

Of the total, 30,818 cases are active in the country at present.

According to the Ministry, 1229 patients recovered from the virus infection in the last 24 hours. So far, 74,252 infected people have recovered from the infection and recovery rate stands at 70.2 per cent.

2,672 new cases in Kathmandu Valley

As many as 2,672 people have been found infected with the novel coronavirus in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, of the total new cases in the Valley, 2,100 new cases of COVID-19 were found in Kathmandu district, 369 were detected in Lalitpur and 203 cases were recorded in Bhaktapur.
