COVID-19 Update: 2,909 New Cases, 4,500 Recoveries, 18 Deaths In Last 24 Hours
Kathmandu / Nov. 6: With 2,909 new cases of the novel coronavirus confirmed on Friday, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has spiked to 188,883.
According to the daily report of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), currently there are 34,905 active cases of COVID-19. Some 1,254 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, some 4,500 COVID-19 patients either receiving treatment in various health facilities or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. With this, Nepal has recorded 152,908 cases of recoveries until now.
Moreover, 18 persons succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has now reached 1070.
Kathmandu Valley recors 1,338 new cases
The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday confirmed 1,338 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.
Of the total 2,909 new infections recorded across the nation, 1,338 new cases, 570 females and 768 males, were recorded in the Valley itself.
Currently, there are 15,001 active cases of COVID-19 in Kathmandu. The capital city’s COVID-19 tally stands at 69,479 including 54,216 cases of recoveries and 262 fatalities.
Likewise, Bhaktapur has recorded 6353 infections until now of which, 5,042 patients have already recovered while 69 succumbed to the infection. There are 1,242 active cases in Bhaktapur.
Lalitpur district has recorded 9,850 cases of novel coronavirus infection until now including 7,558 recoveries and 66 deaths. Currently, there are 2,226 active cases in Lalitpur.
