Kathmandu / Dec 9: The Central Bureau of Statistics is making preparations to conduct the 12th national census from June 8 to 22 and it will be inclusive, officials said.

This is going to be the first national census after the country adopted federalism. “This census is going to be crucial for the three-tier government under the federal system to design plans and programs and it will incorporate personal features,” Dhundiraj Lamichhane, a director at the CBS said on Wednesday, while speaking at a virtual event on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the national census-2078 B.S.

On the occasion, National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) Chair Mitralal Sharma urged the CBS to create a conducive atmosphere so that there would be more participation of people with disabilities in the census.

The program was organized by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens and the NFDN on the occasion of the 29th International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
