Govt decides to establish an industrial estate in Dang

Kathmandu / Jan 27: The government has decided to establish an industrial estate in Dang covering 549 bighas of land in Ward No 4 and 5 of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City of Dang.

According to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung, a decision to this effect was taken by the cabinet meeting held earlier on Sunday.

The government has decided to create temporary quotas for IT officers at the Office of the Attorney General under the institutional reform programme. For the implementation of the Forest Act, 2076, the existing Scientific Forest Management Work Procedure, 2071 would be scrapped and new forest regulation formulated, said Minister Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the government.

The cabinet meeting also decided to provide remuneration of Rs 56,840 per month and allowance for six months to the Coordinator of the Committee on Determining Boundary of Phewa Lake. Proposals to publish postage stamp bearing the image of centenary figure Dr Satyamohan Joshi and Rastrakavi Dr Madhav Prasad Ghimire was also approved by the meeting.

Similarly, the order (first amendment) relating to the committee on the formation of infrastructure development on Ramraja Prasad Singh Institute of Health Sciences, 2077 has been endorsed by the cabinet meeting. Also approved by the meeting was an order (2077) relating to health safety and quarantine of the air passengers arriving in Nepal.

Among other things, the cabinet meeting decided to form a committee under the coordination of Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali to bring a proposal to confer honor and identity card to the democratic fighters, families of those getting martyrdom in various people’s movements including during the Maoist armed insurgency, those disappeared both at the hands of the state and the Maoists and those receiving injuries. A proposal to this effect would be submitted in the next cabinet meeting, according to Minister Gurung.
