MoHA directs Government-owned vehicles to install embossed number plate immediately

Dev Bahadur Kunwar / Kathmandu, Jan. 27: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all the government-owned vehicles to promptly install the high security embossed vehicle number plate.

Stating that the government-owned vehicles were misused by installing private (red) number plates, the MoHA issued the directive to the Armed Police Force, Department of Immigration, Department of Prison Management, and District Administration Office of all 77 districts to immediately install the embossed number plate in vehicles.

Chakra Bahadur Budha, spokesperson of the ministry said, “We have issued a letter to mandatorily complete the installation of the embossed number plate by the end of Falgun month.

Likewise, the MoHA has given a strict directive to not install private (red) number plates in government-owned vehicles without the permission of the ministry.

It has been believed that along with the installation of the embossed number plate, the misuse of government vehicles would decrease.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transportation has already started the installation of the embossed number plates in government-plated vehicles. Shankar Singh Dhami, Senior Divisional Engineer (CDE) of the department of transport management within the ministry all the authorities within the ministry had been directed to install an embossed number plate.
