81 new cases of COVID-19 and five fatalities in 24 hours
Kathmandu / Feb. 11: The Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday confirmed 81 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 272,430.
“In 3,023 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 82 persons were found with the SARS-CoV-2 infection,” informed the Health Ministry in its regular update.
Of the new cases, 33 were reported in the Kathmandu Valley.
Currently, there are 1,718 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 925 are receiving treatment in various institutional isolation and the remaining are placed in home isolation. Of the active patients, 64 are admitted to the ICU and 13 are receiving treatment with the ventilator facility.
A total of 87 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.
Meanwhile, 111 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 268,660 cases of recovery and the recovery rate at 98.6 per cent.
Moreover, with five fatalities in the last 24 hours, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 2,052.
