78 new cases of COVID-19 and 72 recoveries in 24 hours
Kathmandu / Mar. 2: The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 78 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 274,294.
“In 4,127 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 78 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.
Currently, there are 974 active cases of COVID-19 and 58 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.
Meanwhile, 72 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 270,543 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.6 percent.
No COVID-19 fatality was confirmed in Nepal in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll is currently at 2,777.
