85 new cases of COVID-19 and 93 recoveries in 24 hours; 800,000 Chinese 19 Vaccines Arriving Monday

Kathmandu, Mar. 27: The Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday confirmed 85 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 276,750.

“In 2,745 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 85 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” updated the Ministry of Health and Population in its website.

Currently, there are 1,288 active cases of COVID-19. Likewise, a total of 59 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Meanwhile, 93 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 272,435 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.4 per cent.

Moreover, three fatalities related to COVID-19 were confirmed in Nepal in the last 24 hours. Currently, the COVID-19 death toll stands at 3,027.

800,000 Doses China Aid COVID-19 Vaccines Arriving Monday

The 800,000 doses of the China aid COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in Nepal by Monday. Chinese ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi tweeted on her Twitter that vaccines have arrived at the Beijing Capital International Airport today and they will be sent to Nepal very soon.

The spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam informed The TRN Online that those vaccines will arrive in Nepal by coming Monday.
