MoHP records 89 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 Hours

Kathmandu / Mar. 28: The Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday confirmed 89 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 276,839.

“In 2,101 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 89 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,282 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 57 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 95 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now 272,530 recorded cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.4 per cent.

Moreover, no COVID-19 related fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, currently, the nation’s COVID-19 death toll is at 3,027.
