167 new cases of COVID-19 in 3,140 RT-PCR tests

Kathmandu / Mar. 30: The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 167 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 277,147.

“In 3,140 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 167 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1390 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 53 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 115 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 272,727 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.4 per cent.

Moreover, three COVID-19 related fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, currently, the nation’s COVID-19 death toll is at 3,030.
