Cabinet decisions: Sagarmatha dialogue to be held, to sale Nepali embassy land In Germany

Kathmandu / June 4: The government has decided to organise the Sagarmatha Dialogue with a view to sensitising global climate change and its impact on the Himalaya.

At a regular press meet held on Friday to disseminate information about the decisions of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung said that the Cabinet also decided to sell out the land and building properties of the Nepali Embassy in Germany which is in the ownership of the Government of Nepal.

Minister Gurung who is also the government spokesperson said that process to purchase chemical fertilizer from India on government to government basis had also started.

The Cabinet has decided to depute the Chief District Officer as the COVID-19 officer in the district.

The government has decided to mark Push 11 (December 20) as Senior Citizen Day. Prof. Dr. Yadav Prakash Lamichhane has been appointed as the member of the university grant commission while Dr. Binod Aryal has been appointed as the executive director of physical infrastructure development committee of the Madan Bhandari Industrial University.

He said policy, programme and budget of the communications ministry has been transformed in a new way. He said the budget has been allocated to address interests and welfare of the media persons and journalists.

The communication minister said ‘Communication for Prosperity’ has been made the new slogan of the communication sector in view of the role journalists and media can play for the prosperity of the country.

Saying President Bidya Devi Bhandari has been taking initiative for COVID-19 vaccine for the welfare of the country, the government spokesperson urged all to be responsible while making comments on the President. He deplored over the way the President has been baselessly blamed and criticized recently.
