3,370 new cases of COVID-19, 6,951 recoveries and 92 fatalities in 24 hours

Kathmandu / June 7: With new 3,370 cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Monday, the nation’s novel coronavirus tally has reached 591,494.

In 12,002 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 3,370 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population in its daily update.

Likewise, the virus infection was detected in 1,102 people in 5,901 antigen tests performed in the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 85,544 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 7,180 are admitted to various institutional isolation while the remaining 78,364 patients are placed in home isolation.

Of the active patients, 1,434 are admitted to the ICU and 397 are under treatment with the ventilator facility.

Meanwhile, 6,951 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 479,960 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 84.2 per cent.

The Ministry of Health and Population on Monday added 92 fatalities to the nation’s COVID-19 death toll, which has now reached 7,990.
