FNCCI urges French investors to invest in Nepal

Kathmandu / July 9: President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Shekhar Golchha urged the French investors to take benefit by investing in Nepal.

Addressing the virtual meeting of the Nepal French Business Forum on Thursday the FNCCI President said that Nepal is ready to receive investment.

He said that Nepal is a potential destination for the development of infrastructure, tourism, digitalization of the economy, agro-processing industry as it has embarked on the path for development and prosperity.

President Golcha said that the FNCCI initiated National Economic Transformation 2030 has clearly explained the sectors that have the potential for investment. He vowed that Nepal aims for a $ 100 billion economy, 2.2 million employment generation, reduce trade deficit to GDP rati0 to 50% by 2030.

A commitment for a billion USD had been made from France in 107 projects. The previous year, the trade deficit of Nepal with French recorded Rs 8.5 billion, according to the Trade and Export Promotion Center

Addressing the programme, French ambassador to Nepal, Francois-Xavier Leger, and Nepali ambassador for France Deepak Adhikari emphasized utilizing investment potential existing in Nepal and make maximum profit, according to the FNCCI.
