NYEF Kathmandu Startup Awards for Nepali startups

Kathmandu / Aug 5: Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF), a non-profit organization under the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, is organizing the NYEF Kathmandu Startup Awards with the aim to facilitate developing a business ecosystem in Nepal through the means of exposure, mentorship and investment to the startups.

NYEF Kathmandu Chapter, formed in 2016, has been actively conducting events like Impact Talk series, Mentorship week, Masterclass and other social events to enhance the entrepreneurial business ecosystem in Kathmandu. Currently, it has more than 80 entrepreneurs as its members.

NYEF KTM Startup Awards is a premier competition and bootcamp for enthusiastic and driven entrepreneurs who aim to nurture their startup into a scalable business. The event is targeted at startups that have been doing their businesses in the domestic market for less than five years.

The startups can be from the sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, drinking water, education and skill development, energy, enterprise system, environment, fintech, food processing, health and wellness, security, space, transport, travel or any other sectors that would directly impact Nepal’s economy, said the organizer.

Any business entity registered outside Nepal or with a parent/sister concern outside Nepal will not be eligible to join the competition. Similarly, the NYEF has barred the entities owned by its members from participating in the event.

The winner of the award will receive a cash prize of Rs 150,000 and the runner up will receive Rs 75,000. The startup winning the peoples’ choice award will get Rs 50,000.
