Nepal and Qatar agree to Review Labour Contract

Kathmandu / Dec. 3: Nepal and Qatar have agreed to review their labour agreement inked in 2005.

A bilateral meeting between Nepal and Qatar held in Kathmandu on December 2-3 made a decision to this effect, according to a press release by the Labour, Employment and Social Security Ministry issued today.

The joint meeting was led by joint secretary Binu Bajracharya from the Nepali side and by Fouaiz Mohammed N M AL Rayes, Director, Recruitment, from the Qatari side.

Nepal had put forth the proposal for reviewing the labour contract.

A new agreement will be made by updating and improving some aspects of the bilateral agreements between the two countries.

The two sides have also agreed to make Qatar Visa Center better managed. The Qatari government has also agreed to set up training centers in all seven provinces of Nepal for enhancing the capability of the labourers aspiring to go to Qatar.
