Cabinet approves receiving loan from World Bank and makes appointments

Kathmandu / Dec. 17: The government has decided to form a team to receive 14 million USD in grant provided by the World Bank under the COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Project.

Similarly, a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday also approved the Teachers Service Commission 11th Amendment Rules 2078 BS, according to the government’s Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

Also, the government decided to provide over Rs 2 million in compensation to 29 affected people including one Purna Prasad Poudel at the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Likewise, Nepali citizenship certificates of Sandip Chandra Baniya, Sudip Chandra Baniya and Aatma Ram Kurmi would be annulled.

The meeting has agreed to appoint Binod Kumar Bhattarai to the post of Gazetted First Class (Nepal Judicial Service, Law) and Rampyari Sunuwar to the post of Gazetted First Class (Nepal Judicial Service, Justice).

More, the meeting decided to grant permission to Armed Police Force Inspector General Shailendra Khanal to attend the Indian Armed Police Forces 58th establishment day ceremony.

Similarly, the meeting agreed to allow the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to revise an agreement with the ‘Alliance Françoise Kathmandu (AFK)’ and sign the revised document.

More, the Cabinet has accepted the temporary quotas of five officers to implement the Poverty Alleviation Fund Achieve Management Programme under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

The meeting has allowed the Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality in Dhading to use 10 rapanis of land to build an administrative building and decided to provide one ropani of land on lease for the construction of a building of the Bhoteodar Eye Treatment Centre Sundar Bajar, Lamjung,

A three-member recommendation committee has been constituted under the leadership of Dr Damodar Regmi to proceed towards the appointment of a vice chair at the National Youth Council.

As per the meeting decision, Nepali Army’s brigadier general Dr Arun Kumar Neupaune to the post of major general.

Brigadier General Sagar Bahadur KC has been given honorary promotion to the post of Lieutenant General before his retirement. Similarly four other army officers have been promoted. Colonel Khageshwor has also been given a special promotion before his retirement. Brigadier General in the technical service Hegendra Lal Maharjan and Colonel Khum Bahadur Kunwar Chhetri’s term has been extended.

The Major Generals, Brigadier Generals and Colonels of various service groups of the Nepali Army have been transferred.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has been permitted to use 10.52 hectares national forest area at Birendranagar municipality, including Chetana Community Forest at Panchapuri and Barahatal rural municipalities for the construction of the poles and right of way structures for the Surkhet-Bijaura 33Kv transmission line.

Similarly, the Cabinet meeting decided to transfer the ownership of 2,290 square metres land in the name of the District Assembly Kalikot to the Khadachakra Municipality Kalikot and to give approval to 13 various local levels to acquire land for different projects.

The government has likewise decided to appoint 10 persons including Dr Prajjwal Shrestha recommended by the Public Service Commission (PSC) to the 11th level of Nepal Health Service. The Cabinet meeting also approved the resignation tendered by member of the Nepal Revenue Advisory Development Board, Nirmalhari Adhikari, from his post.
