Minister Khatiwada launches vaccination campaign

Kathmandu / Dec 19: Minister for Health and Population, Birodh Khatiwada has launched a campaign to administer vaccines against COVID-19 to students in their respective schools.

He inaugurated the campaign from Bhutandevi Secondary School in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan CIty, the same school where the minister once studied. According to press advisor Shanta Ram Bidari of Minister Khatiwada, the objective of the campaign is to vaccinate every citizen.

He said that the campaign will continue until every single citizen is vaccinated against the deadly virus.

The government has launched the campaign in 57 districts across the seven provinces of the country to vaccinate children from the age of 12 to 17.

Likewise, Pfizer vaccines will be distributed in eight districts of three provinces from December 28 to January 6. The vaccines will be distributed in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Sindhuli and Chitwan of Bagmati Province, Dadeldhura in Sudurpaschim Province and Surkhet in Karnali Province.

According to the ministry, the first doses of the vaccines will be administered from December 28 to January 6, while the second doses of the vaccine will be administered from January 14 till January 27.
