Prime Minister Deuba inaugurates Chobhar Dry Port

Kathmandu / April 5: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has inaugurated the Chobhar Dry Port.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Deuba formally inaugurated the port.

The port has been brought into operation from today by entering the cargo truck from Birgunj.

Entrepreneurs will now be able to get the imported goods cleared by the port customs office after the port comes into operation.

While expressing confidence that the dry port would play an important role to make the import and export of goods and services more systematic and competitive, Prime Minister Deuba said that structures such as dry ports were needed to develop the country’s foreign trade in a sustainable and balanced manner.

The prime minister also emphasized the need to focus on indigenous raw materials, labor and SIP-based products to reduce the growing trade deficit. He also made a remark that the government was ready to cooperate with the private sector to solve the problems in foreign trade.
