204 Climbers receive permits to climb Mt Everest; 6,400 Meters Of Route Constructed

Kathmandu / April 9: This spring, 204 climbers from 42 countries, including Russia, will climb Mt. Everest.

According to the Department of Tourism, a team of 204 people, including 14 from Russia, had obtained permission to climb Mt. Everest.

The countries with the highest number of climbers are 51 from the USA, 25 from the UK, 15 from India, 11 from Canada, 11 from Nepal, 10 from Australia and nine from China.

Of the climbers, 46 are women and 158 are men.

6,400 meters of Everest climbing route constructed so far

The construction of this year’s Everest climbing route has been completed up to 6,400 meters.

According to Chhiring Sherpa, Chief Administrative Officer of the Everest Pollution Control Committee, a team of icefall doctors fixed the rope to the second camp at Khumbu Icefall, which is considered to be the most dangerous route.

Sherpa informed that the second camp has been opened for the climbers since Thursday.

A team of Icefall Doctors Angsarki Sherpa, Dawa Nuru Sherpa, Pemba Chhiring Sherpa, Sonam Chhiring Sherpa, Chhewang Nuru Sherpa and Nima Galgen Sherpa started the construction of the ascent route from the base camp on March 20.
