KMC warns seven casinos of action if they do not pay tax in 7 days

Kathmandu / Sept. 4: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has written to seven casinos, asking them to pay entertainment tax within a week.

Sending a letter on Sunday, the KMC asked Deltine of Hotel Marriott, Casino Palace of Hotel Annapurna, Casino Rad of Hotel Radisson, Pride International and Recreation of Hotel Hyatt, Majong of Hotel Solti and Belly Casino of Malla Hotel to clear the tax due.

According to the Finance Department of the metropolis, the casinos in question have not paid the entertainment tax for casino entrance prescribed by the Economic Act of Bagmati Province for the past four years.

The metropolis has warned the casinos of action if they do not file the tax within seven days, as per the rate set by the Provincial Financial Act and the corresponding penalty for filing the tax late. According to the head of the revenue department of the metropolis, Dr Shivraj Adhikari, all the seven casinos should each pay 50 rupees to the metropolis in taxes for each individual entry.
