Mayor Karki highlights achievements of 100 days in office; says social development top priority

Kathmandu / Sept. 06: The Mayor of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality Upendra Karki has informed that the local government has prioritized the social development during their 100 days in office.

Organizing a press conference to highlight the achievements made during 100-days of his office the mayor has informed that the municipality has prioritized overall development of the municipality with specific focus on education, health, sports, senior citizen, entrepreneurship and physical infrastructure.

The press conference was attended by Deputy Mayor Shanta Thapa, Chief Executive Officer of the municipality Bhojraj Ghimire and ward chairpersons and officials of the municipality.

Addressing the press conference mayor Karki informed that the municipality has prioritized increasing the post of teachers for enhancing quality of education and also prioritized other physical infrastructure like drinking water and city-related infrastructure. Similarly, the municipality has been promoting micro enterprise related programmes for employment generation and also initiating various tasks for promotion of agriculture and tourism sector. He also highlighted their work on beautification of the municipality and waste management.

He also shared the plan of developing the municipality as sports hub and take concrete measures for overall development of the municipality. He thanked all the voters for entrusting the responsibility to him and his team for the overall development of the municipality and expressed confident that they will be able to lift the face of the municipality during their tenure.
