Youths start commercial organic farming in Sindhupalchok
Sindhupalchok / Oct 1: After seeing potential in agriculture farming, 25 youths have come together to start organic farming in Bhotechaur of Sindhupalchok. Some of them were working in Nepal and some had returned from foreign employment.
Aggregated Sindhu Organic Farm and Farmstay is located in Melamchi Municipality, Bhotechaur. They have fruit, seasonal and non-seasonal vegetable, cow, goat farm and poultry farms in the farm is spread over 80 ropani of land. They invested Rs 30 million to start the farm meanwhile it has become worth more than Rs 70 million.
One of the farmers Jhalak Subedi said that they have willing to make life better in Nepal.
The farm has been supplying vegetables, fruits, poultry, and goat in the capital. Another partner Rama Shrestha says that she had gained seven years of experience in the agriculture sector in a foreign country. She is now willing to practice those experiences in Nepal.
They are also running farm stay on the farm for visitors with good accommodation facilities. About 35 people have got employment opportunities on the farm. The local residents Sukraraj and Bimala Biswokarma said they are enjoying employment opportunities on farms.
