EC fixes number of 10, 892 polling stations and 22,227 voting centers

Kathmandu / Oct. 17: Election Commission (EC) has fixed the number of polling stations and voting centers across the country to be 10,892 and 22,227 respectively.

The election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly (PA) is slated for November 20.

There are 165 constituencies under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system for the HoR.

Similarly, under the FPTP system for the PA, there are 56 constituencies in Province 1, 64 in Madhes province, 66 in Bagmati province, 36 in Gandaki province, 52 in Lumbini province, 24 in Karnali province and 32 in Sudurpaschim province.

A total of over 17.9 million voters as determined by the EC are eligible to cast their votes in the November 20 election. Of the total, 8.8 million are males while 9.1 million are females.
