EC Chief Thapaliya urges artists to help in poll publicity
Kathmandu / Nov. 7: Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has urged the artists to contribute to holding of elections in a fair manner by helpful and responsible words and works with regard to the election.
Addressing an interaction programme with the cine artists organized by the Election Commission on Monday, EC Chief Thapaliya urged all to provide correct information to the voters about the candidates instead of staying in a dark room and engaging in activities that may disrupt the poll environment.
“It is heard in some places that poll ambiance has not yet been created, maybe because the EC has been strict in many matters. I hope, from now onwards the ambiance will be made as we are with you all. I know code of conduct is nothing new for the artists because you do not want to violate it,” said EC Chief Thapaliya.
Saying that the artists are the ornaments of the nation and that common people have special sentiments toward them, the EC Chief Thapaliya appealed to the artists to make publicity about the election through their social site networks and other means for the sake of the Commission and the nation.
