KCC organize rally to mark Internal Day for elimination of violence against women
Kathmandu / Nov. 25: Kantipur City College has organized a rally program today on the occasion of 43rd International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women.
The rally was attended by students, faculties and staff to commemorate the day with the theme ‘UNITE! Activism to end the violence against women and girls.’
The rally passed through College, Newplaza, Kalikasthan, Dillibazar, Putlisadak and ended with a corner assembly at the college.
President of ABC Nepal Mrs. Mina Karki addressed the programme organized at the end of the rally and shared the importance and necessity of this campaign.
Every year from 25th November to 10th December, various activities and programs are organized for 16 days to show solidarity and generate public awareness against gender-based violence.
Ending violence against women is possible, but only if we act together, now.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is commemorated annually on November 25 to denounce the violence that is exerted on women throughout the world and demand policies in all countries for its eradication. The call was initiated by the Latin American feminist movement in 1981, commemorating the date on which the three Mirabal sisters (Patria, Minerva and María Teresa) were murdered in the Dominican Republic in 1960.
Principal, Vice Principal, Chief Administrator, Heads, Coordinators also participated in the rally.
