Nepal beats UAE in ICC World Cup League-2 cricket ODI series match

Kathmandu / March 12: Nepal defeated the UAE in the ICC World Cup League-2 cricket ODI series match played on Sunday. Facing a target of 249 runs to win against Nepal, the UAE got all out after scoring 71 runs in 22.5 overs and lost the game by 177 runs.

With this victory, Nepal has managed to keep the recognition of one-day cricket playing nation intact. After collecting 36 points from 34 games, Nepal has succeeded to secure fourth place in the league table. With this defeat, UAE will have to play the playoffs to save the ODI status.

After today’s victory, Nepal has strengthened its chances of being in the top three by winning the remaining two matches. Nepal is now three points behind Namibia which is at third place in the league table. After winning the remaining two games, Nepal will be able to overtake Namibia.
