Contracts of stalled projects will be terminated: Minister Dr Mahat

Kathmandu / Aug 14: Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has made it clear the contracts of projects failing to report the progress will be terminated.

During his discussions with protesting contractors at his office today, the Minister said the government would clear its payments to contractors, but again it would not hesitate to cancel contracts of stalled projects.

In case of those projects for which the termination of the contracts is not a feasible option, he urged for the management of the budget and the acceleration of the projects.

It is noted that the Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) has been agitating under its second phase of the protest since August 10, alleging the government’s procrastination to release payments to them. RSS
