CIAA registers case against three at Special Court

Kathmandu / Sept 3: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) registered a case at the Special Court against three persons on the charge of financial irregularities.

The anti-graft body registered the case against the three persons including then Chief Administration Officer of Lipulekh Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu district, Rajendra Bhandari, for their alleged involvement in the embezzlement of fund while purchasing land to construct an office building for ward no 2, the CIAA stated.

The sued ones produced fake papers of procuring the land for Rs 600,000 that was actually donated by the locals. Then accountant Jivan Subedi and then ward no 2 Chairperson Ramesh Kumar Basnet were the partners in corruption, shared Bhola Dahal, CIAA Spokesperson.

In the case, the CIAA has demanded the punishment equal to the embezzlement. RSS
