PM Prachanda leaves for U.S.; DPM Khakda to serve as Acting PM

Kathmandu / Sept. 16: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has left for the U.S. today evening.

In the departing event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Speaker Devraj Ghimire and ministers bade farewell to the PM at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) along with the prominent leaders of the Maoist Centre.

Prime Minister Prachanda is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on September 21.

Purna Bahadur Khadka given responsibility of Acting PM

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka has been given the responsibility of the Acting Prime Minister as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ left here for USA by leading a Nepali delegation to the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) being held in New York.

After his visit to the UNGA, the PM is scheduled to directly travel to Hangzhou in China on September 22.

The Office of the President has stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Khadka has been assigned to discharge the responsibility of daily administrative jobs in absence of the PM. RSS
