Kathmandu / Oct 5: The Supreme Court has issued a show-cause order in response to the writ filed against the government’s decision to release Yograj Dhakal (Regal).

On Thursday, a single bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma ordered the government to submit a written reply within seven days.

On the occasion of Constitution Day, President Ram Chandra Poudel, upon the government’s recommendation, granted amnesty to Regal. He was subsequently released on the same day from jail.

Bharati, Chetan’s wife, who was murdered by Regal, had earlier filed a writ petition at the SC after discovering that the murderer of her husband had been pardoned. Bharati has also commenced a hunger strike in Maitighar, Mandala from Wednesday afternoon, demanding justice.
