Jomsom / Oct 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has announced the allocation of Rs 500 million to Mustang for climate protection.
Speaking at a climate dialogue program organized by the National Trust for Nature Conservation and Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) Project at Jomsom, Mustang on Wednesday, Dahal announced that Rs 500 million will be sent to Mustang.
PM Dahal said that protecting the mountains is the responsibility of not only Nepal but also the whole world.
PM Dahal said, “Of late, Nepal has been facing serious consequences of climate change. Its seriousness is seen in the mountain region. I had the opportunity to hear first-hand that the Mustang district was also severely affected. I spoke seriously about this at the UN General Assembly, World Food Conference in Rome.”
“If the mountains are not protected, even the so-called developed countries will not be safe. The issue of climate change is not only Nepal’s but the world’s common issue” said PM Dahal, “Nepal will seriously consider this issue in the COP conference. We should get grants for the damages suffered by countries like Nepal due to developed countries.”
PM Dahal said that Mustang is a district with multifaceted characteristics and it is also important from the point of view of apple production and other products.
