Nepal to vie against India, Pakistan in ACC U-19 Asia Cup

Kathmandu / Nov. 08: The Asian Cricket Council on Wednesday announced the fixtures of the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2023 with the tournament set to take place in the United Arab Emirates from December 8 to 17.

As per the fixtures, Nepal will vie against Pakistan in their maiden match of the contest at the ICC Academy Ground-2 on December 8.

Nepal will play against Afghanistan on December 10 and against India on December 12 in the other group-stage matches.

The participating teams have been divided into two groups, each comprising four teams. Nepal have been placed in Group ‘A’ alongside Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan while Group ‘B’ includes hosts UAE, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Japan.

Nepal had clinched the title of ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup after defeating the UAE by 19 runs in a rain-hit final at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 24.

The U-19 Rhinos had qualified for the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2023 after they defeated Japan by 144 runs in the semifinals of the Premier Cup played in Malaysia on October 21.

Nepal have also qualified for the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 after defeating the United Arab Emirates by seven runs to secure top position in the Asian Regional Qualifier in Ajman on March 2.
