PM says new budget will focus underprivileged class, region

Kathmandu / May 4: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the upcoming fiscal year’s policy and programme, and budget would focus the concerns of underprivileged classes and regions lagging behind in national development indicators.

Addressing the 10th full meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre)’s parliamentary party meeting, the Maoist Centre Chairman and Prime Minister Prachanda shared that the new budget would be prepared by taking lessons from past experiences.

“Policy and programme, and budget will be brought keeping the agendas of good-governance, social justice and prosperity in the centre, and to uplift the underprivileged ones,” Maoist Centre’s chief whip Hitraj Pandey quoted the PM as saying.

Likewise, the PM directed the ministers from the Maoist Centre to interact with the Maoist Centre’s lawmakers and take their feedback in preparing the budget.

The PM was of the view that the new feedback should be to uplift the communities in Madhes including the surroundings from Postal Highway, Karnali, Dalits and the oppressed communities.

Likewise, the PM asked the lawmakers to offer their feedback for production growth and employment creation and share the recommendations from the experts of diverse sectors to the government through the party.

During the meeting, the Maoist Centre lawmakers suggested that the new budget should address the people’s expectations amid the ongoing status of limited resources.

Chief Whip Pandey said that the meeting decided to make the upcoming parliamentary session systematic and effective and pass the bills from the thematic committees. (RSS)
