Government declares disaster-hit three dozen local levels as crisis-ridden area

Kathmandu / Oct 4: The Government has decided to declare three dozen local levels affected by recent flood and disaster as crisis-ridden area.

The cabinet meeting held on Friday decided to declare the crisis-ridden areas based on the recommentation of the Executive Committee of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA)

The meeting of NDRRMA held on Friday has recommended for declaring some three dozen local levels hit hard by the recent rain-induced disasters- landslides and floods- as crisis-ridden area.

The 26th meeting of the NDRMMA Executive Committee made a decision to recommend the government for the declaration, according to Dr. Dijan Bhattarai, Under Secretary/Spokesperson and Information Officer of the NDRMMA.

He said declaration of crisis-ridden area would help in expediting relief distribution and reconstruction.
