Police arrest RSP President Lamichhane

Kathmandu / Oct 18: Police have recently arrested President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane.

The police arrested the former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane from his party office, Banasthali, according to Acting Spokesperson of RSP, Manish Jha.

The District Court, Kaski had given permission to the Nepal Police to arrest Lamichhane for investigating into the accusation he was labeled- of embezzling the fund from Surya Darshan Cooperatives, Pokhara.

A police team had reached the RSP party office with an arrest warrant.

The District Police Office, Kaski has been forwarding the investigation into Lamichhane and founder chair of Surya Darshan Cooperatives, Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai for their collusion to siphon the money from cooperative to Gorkha Media Network.

Just before the arrest, President Lamichhane told before party cadres and media persons at party office that he had not committed any crime and he would cooperate with judicial process associated with the allegation on him. He also argued that his arrest had come as a blow to nation’s hope.RSS
