Export promotion, import substitution needed for economic development: FNCCI president Dhakal


Kathmandu / Jan 7: President of Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal has pointed at the need of concrete steps on the part of the government to promote exports and substitute imports for economic development of the country.

Speaking at a programme held on the occasion of the 9th Export Day and the 27th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Nepal export council here today, the FNCCI president highlighted that domestic industries should be strengthened for import substitution and that export policy and its execution should be in the same line for meeting the objectives of both the government and the private sector.

He urged the government to provide grants in time to private sector businesses as committed.
