126,000 tourists visit Nepal in 11 months of 2021
Kathmandu / Dec 4: Nepal welcomed more than 126,000 tourists in 11 months of 2021, with the government turning flexible to welcome the foreign visitors after a decline in coronavirus infection cases.
Since the last week of September, the government has been issuing on-arrival visas to travelers entering the country. This type of visa was opened for the travelers who submit a document verifying that they received the final COVID-19 vaccine dose and have a negative PCR report not older than 72 hours of checking-in the flight.
The records with Nepal Tourism Board show that 26,487 travelers visited Nepal in November, which was the largest single-month number since the pandemic hit the country. In October, the number was 26,135, which was way greater than that of 9,898 tourists in September.
