Impeachment motion against CJ Rana tabled in HoR

Kathmandu / Mar. 13: Proposal of impeachment against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana has been tabled in the parliament.

Dev Gurung, a lawmaker from the CPN (Maoist Center), presented the impeachment motion in the meeting of the House of Representatives today.

The proposal has been backed by 95 lawmakers and supported by lawmakers Dev Gurung, Pushpa Bhusal and Jivanram Shrestha and tabled as per Article 101 (2) and Rule 161 (5) of the HoR Regulations 2075 BS.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota allotted time for lawmaker Gurung to present the impeachment proposal in the HoR and Gurung presented the 20-point impeachment motion.

The impeachment motion was registered at the HoR on February 13.

Following the presentation of the motion, the meeting of the HoR has been postponed for March 16.
