Govt recommends President to end parliament session from tomorrow midnight

Kathmandu / Sept. 16: The government has recommended President Bidya Devi Bhandari to prorogue the parliament session from September 17 at midnight.

Jivan Ram Shrestha, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, informed that a meeting of the Council of Ministers held Friday morning at Baluwatar, the official residence of the Prime Minister, decided to recommend the President for ending the parliament session from September 17.

Meanwhile, the last meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been called for 1 pm Saturday.

As the election for the members of the HoR and Provincial Assembly (PA) is slated for November 20, the Election Commission has asked the political parties to submit the closed list of candidates for the members of the HoR and PA under the proportional representation system of the election.
