Dr. KC refuses to go to Kathmandu for treatment even as his health condition worsens
Kathmandu / Sept. 20: The health condition of agitating Dr. Govinda KC has deteriorated. He has been staging a fast-unto-death for the 20th time in Dhangadhi putting forth his seven-point demand that includes improvement of medical education and health sector. The government had sent a sky truck of Nepal Army to Dhangadhi to airlift him to Kathmandu for treatment as his condition worsened.
His muscles are drying up and bleeding has been noticed due to stomach ulcers. Doctors have requested transferring KC into a hospital with more facilities. Seti Provincial Hospital had already prepared a letter to transfer TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajganj.
Chief District Officer, Kiran Thapa, said that Dr KC has refused to go to Kathmandu.
Doctor Amrit Jaisi said that KC’s health is deteriorating day by day. He was taken to the Seti Provincial Hospital by an ambulance last Wednesday evening after he developed health problems within three days of his Satyagraha (fast-unto-death) at the Dhangadhi Krishna Temple, Dharamshala. Despite being taken to the hospital, Dr KC has refused to take any medication.
Doctor involved in the treatment said Dr KC has experienced joint pain, muscle pain, headache, tingling, fatigue, dizziness, breathing difficulty and chest pain, among other health complications.
