Uniform, insignia of Police carry people’s trust, confidence: DPM Shrestha

Kathmandu / Apr 4: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha has observed that trust and confidence of the common people lies in the uniform and insignia of the police.

“In the uniform and insignia that you have put on lies people’s trust and confidence. I hope you will strive to maintain this by fair, independent and efficient service delivery,” said the DPM while inspecting the Nepal Police Head Office.

The Home Minister urged the police personnel to be careful and modest in dealing with the people as they are the ones who deal with the people as the first contact line of the government and that people form perception about the government from the behavior of the police force.

Lauding the role of Nepal Police in curbing smuggling and revenue leakage, DPM and HM Shrestha instructed them to enhance their role qualitatively.

He directed the police force to make the people feel the guarantee of rule of law in the country fulfilling their duties as per the law.
