Groundbreaking of Budhigandaki Hydropower by mid-July: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu / June 26: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said preparations are on for the groundbreaking of the Budhigandaki Hydropower Project by coming mid-July.

He said an agreement has already been reached regarding the project’s modality and the necessary procedures for implementing it would begin shortly.

During an inauguration of a building of the Adarsha Multiple College in Gajuri of Dhading today, the Prime Minister said he on Sunday directed the authorities concerned to establish the office for the project of national pride and make necessary arrangements for its groundbreaking within a week.

He took time to say that his latest visit to India was historic and signings of various significant agreements including the export of 10,000 megawatt of electricity to India in the next year were observed during the visit.

The Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre) viewed the existing political alliance would continue for the next five years. Refuting media reports doubting over on the continuity of the alliance, he said, “It will remain intact for the next five years, taking the nation towards an era of development.”
