People’s movements defamed via social networking sites: PM Prachanda
Birgunj / Aug 25: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed concern over the efforts made via social networking sites to defame Maoist movement and Madhes movement in recent time.
Addressing an assembly organized by the socialist front here Friday, PM Prachanda argued, “Misleading and fabricated news were spread targeting Maoist movement and Madhes movement. It is worrying trend of hour. We’ve taken it seriously.”
According to him, the socialist front was created against regressive forces and to guide people towards socialism. The front has moved ahead with clear and new agenda and thoughts.
The PM further viewed, “The government has aimed at achieving good governance, socialism and prosperity. It continues efforts towards it.”
Various scandals as Bhutanese refugees, Lalita Niwas land grab, and gold smuggling would be sorted out and concluded with investigation. The government was addressing the problems faced by victims of loan-sharking with the formulation of Act.
He further viewed he was worried over Madhes development. The Cabinet meeting had recently decided for the construction of Nijgadh airport, so works would intensify here after. Sunkoshi-Marin diversion had also gained pace, he added.
According to him, efforts were underway to ensure relief to the farmers in Madhes who were hit hard by the drought. Similarly, the works under Nijgadh-Kathmandu fast track would speed up.
Moreover, the PM vowed to bring federal education act, federal civil service act and Nepal Police integration act soon. Constitution could be amended to wipe out errors.
On the occasion, former prime minister and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal viewed the socialist front was created to protect constitution.
Mentioning that bringing change in people’s living standard and building a prosperous nation was the first future course of the Front, Nepal, also the Chairperson of the Front said, “We have formed the Front to ensure that no one would be hurt, humiliated and left unemployed.”
He laid emphasis on forwarding the activities by creating employment in the country immediately. Chairperson Nepal announced that the Front would support the anti-corruption campaign run by the incumbent government.
Claiming that the incumbent alliance government would complete its five-year term, he suggested the government that it moved ahead for good governance and prosperity as per the people’s wish and aspiration.
Similarly, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, viewed they had moved ahead by forming a socialist front for the successful implementation of democratic republic and inclusion.
He stated that they were compelled to form the Front for the protection of achievements gained from the sacrifice, he added strengthening federalism and maintaining good governance was the goal of the Front. Chairperson Yadav further said development of the country was not possible without development of Madhes. The trend of leaving development projects in Madhes must end, he underlined.
Likewise, General-Secretary of Nepal Communist Party, Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ claimed that they had advanced by forming the Socialist Front against the crony capitalism because it could not give an outlet to the country.
