IOE announces new increased fee
Kathmandu / Oct 8: Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering (IOE) has fixed new fees for undergraduate students.
Earlier, due to the opposition of the student union, IOE could not implement the fee of Rs 775,420 rupees.
According to the decision of August 10, IOE issued a notice on August 22 and increased the fees of the undergraduate level (B.E, B.Arch) of the constituent campus.
The students went from hunger strike to demonstrations demanding the reversal of the fee hike. The institute also formed a committee to review the fees.
The institute has fixed a fee of Rs 490,000. Earlier, students were studying by paying a fee of Rs 318,000.
The entrance exam could not be held due to the fee dispute. The entrance exam was to be held on September 11. Keeping the new fees, the institute has issued a notification to conduct the entrance exam from October 31.
According to the decision of the implementation committee of IOE on October 6, the fee for the four-year BE and B.Arch level has been fixed at Rs 56,700 for regular, Rs 4,90,000 for full fees and Rs 13.135 million for foreign students.
Those who failed to fill the entrance exam application form earlier can fill the entrance exam form online from October 9 to 11.
