Nepal defeats UAE by five wickets to continue unbeaten streak in T20I Series
Kathmandu / Oct 23: Nepal continued their unbeaten streak as they defeated the United Arab Emirates by five wickets in a match under the Nepal Tri-Nation T20I Series on Monday.
The hosts chased down the 165 runs target by the visitors losing five wickets with four balls to spare in the match played at Muplani Cricket Ground, Kathmandu.
Aasif Sheikh was the pick of Nepali batting as he top-scored with 62 runs off 50 balls with six fours and two sixes.
Skipper Rohit Paudel played a 47-run knock as Dipendra Singh Airee scored an unbeaten 40 off 15 balls with six hits to the fence and a six.
Muhammad Jawadullah grabbed two wickets in his kitty as Akif Raja and Zahoor Khan chipped in with a wicket each.
Earlier, put to bat first, the UAE made 164 runs on the board at the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Vriitya Aravind and Basil Hameed scored an equal 45 runs as Asif Khan made 18 runs.
For Nepal, Sompal Kami and Abinash Bohara took two wickets each.
