Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha discharged from hospital
Kathmandu / Oct 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha has been discharged from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing, China, on Monday.
Shrestha, who is currently in Beijing to participate in the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, was hospitalised on Thursday morning after suffering from acute myocardial infarction.
He was discharged from the hospital after undergoing treatment for five days.
The hospital said Shrestha was presented to the emergency room of the international medical services at Peking Union Medical College Hospital with complaints of chest discomfort lasting for two hours.
He was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction and was immediately taken to the cath lab, where an emergency coronary angiography showed an occlusion [obstruction] in the obtuse marginal branch (OM) and significant stenosis in the left anterior descending artery (LAD), the hospital said.
Upon his discharge from the hospital, Shrestha expressed his gratitude to the doctors involved in his treatment, the hospital family and the Nepali Embassy in Beijing.
Similarly, he has thanked all those who were concerned for his health and extended him best wishes.
The deputy prime minister is scheduled to return home on Wednesday.
