Nepal clinch ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup title defeating UAE by 19 runs
Kathmandu / Oct. 24: Nepal on Tuesday clinched the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup title defeating the United Arab Emirates by 19 runs in a rain-affected match.
The UAE managed to get only 178 runs on the board losing all wickets in 26.5 overs in the run chase for 198 runs in the final played at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Nepal set a 281-run target for the UAE at the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. The target was revised to 198 runs based on the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method after rain stopped the play for hours.
Dhruv Parashar top-scored for the UAE at 59 runs off 49 deliveries as Aryansh Sharma made 32 runs.
Aakash Tirpathi was the pick of Nepal bowling as he took four wickets. Subash Bhandari and Akash Chand grabbed three and two wickets respectively.
Earlier, Captain Dev Khanal completed his century off 92 balls with nine hits to the fence and three sixes as Nepal put 280 on the board. Uttam Rangu Thapa Magar and Arjun Kumal also completed their half-centuries hitting 57 and 55 runs respectively.
