High-level committee to probe Ncell share sale issue begins works

Kathmandu / Dec 8: The government has already formed a high-level committee to investigate the matter of the sale of shares of Ncell, the telecommunications service provider, based in Nepal, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.

The Minister announced the formation of the high-level committee to investigate the matter during a press briefing today.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday constituted the five-member committee headed by former Auditor General Tankamani Sharma (Dangal). It has been assigned to present its findings to the government within the next 30 days.

Government secretary Phanindra Gautam, Finance Ministry’s joint-secretary Ritesh Kumar Shakya, joint secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Baburaj Bhandari, and ICAN President Sujan Kumar Kafle are members of the probe committee.
